Excuses

We are human. Obviously. Being human comes with many things, like happiness, sadness, motivation, and excuses. At some point in your life you have made an excuse to not go workout, or go on a run that you were planning to go on, or you tried to come up with a valid reason you are…

New Year, New you

Happy new year everyone! I am glad that this year is over and we are ready to face 2021 head on. Last year on this day, I committed to being completely vegan. It was the best decision I think I have ever made. I am happy to admit that since then, I have been fully…

Christmas Dinner

We all know it a tradition, just like Thanksgiving, to have a Turkey on our plate for Christmas. And although it is a tradition, it does not make it morally justifiable to rob a animal of it’s life just for a special day. Especially when that day represents love, giving, and compassion. It is very…

Feelin’ Good

When most people think of being vegan, they think of a huge commitment and sacrifice, all for what…. salad? I know for sure this is true because one of those people was me. I thought being vegan, (or even just vegetarian) would be to painful to bear. In fact, I remember at least three separate times that I said, “I could never be vegan.”

Why? because the view of vegans is completely skewed to make people assume that a person who has adopted a plant-based diet is weak, doesn’t get protein, shoves information in peoples’ faces, and eats only salad, plus soooo much more. Take it from me, a kid whose favorite foods were mac and cheese, and chicken nuggets, I would never in a million years go back to the way I ate before becoming vegan.

There are so many reasons why, from feeling healthier, to not feeling guilty for the fact that I am not eating a once living animal, and so much more. The articles I have written for this blog are all factors in this life-changing decision. If any of the topics intrigue you, or you are feeling up to something fresh and exciting– my advice is just to try it!

For me, the same week that I started this journey, I knew I had made the right decision. I felt happier, more energized, and less guilty. As time passed, the foods that I used to crave, became easier and easier and easier to look past, because I now knew the feeling of true health. (And, by the way, I get PLENTY of protein)!

My advice would be to start cutting back on animal products one at a time, maybe starting with your least favorite and moving to your favorite — that way it isn’t so abrupt. (I did it the abrupt way, and it worked well, but this way you can ease into it at a little slower pace.) If this is not the thing for you, I will not argue, but for me, it was by far the best decision I have made in my life.

“Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.”
